After the course

The Course Director will notify all candidates of their results within one week of completing the course. NLS Instructor details will be collated by the NZRC. Please notify the NZRC of any change to personal details (for example, email address, phone or workplace).

All certified NLS instructors must annually participate in three NLS provider courses, and demonstrate networking and professional development  by attending at least one NZRC professional development activity (e.g. NZRC Educator's Day and/or scientific meeting) or equivalent every two years.

New instructors must be nominated by their Provider Course Director after completion of a Provider Course. After this, the path is open for them to be accepted by the NZRC, complete an Instructor Course and – after one year – to become a Provider Course Director themselves.

This is laid out step by step in the Pathway to NLS Instructor Status.
